Danube and Danube Swabians: one museum – two exhibitions
DONAUSCHWABEN. DEPARTURE AND ENCOUNTER
European migration history in a museum: the exhibition shows the history of the Germans on the Middle Danube from their emigration in the 18th century to the present day. It is a journey of discovery into the world of the Danube Swabians: What role did the village community play? How did peaceful coexistence with other peoples work? How did the Danube Swabians experience National Socialism, the loss of their homeland, socialism and the fall of the Iron Curtain?
DANUBE. RIVER STORIES
A journey of discovery in 22 stories: They tell of life on and with the Danube, the great European river that connects ten countries. The result is a panorama of past and present, nature and society, politics and business. Encounters with fishermen, travelers, conservationists, animals and river deities make it possible to experience the diversity of the Danube as a living and natural environment.
