Jörg Neugebauer’s poetry often unfolds its effect with a delay, which can last a second or even a few days. At first glance, his texts may seem a little simple or banal, but then the realization creeps in: the man disguises himself with supposed simplicity and often writes with a very unique, strangely offbeat humor that comes into its own when you listen to Neugebauer. He mischievously places his time bombs in the audience’s ears. But don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt; instead, it brings a smile to the face of the discerning listener. Of course, Neugebauer can also do something else in between, namely really get under your skin. Live, he is accompanied by drummer Georg Daucher and Reinhard Köhler, sometimes on exotic musical instruments, producing whimsical sounds without any engine roar.
