The “”theater ulüm”” is the only professional Turkish theater in southern Germany to date that has been staging various German-Turkish plays in its own venue for over twenty years with the support of the city of Ulm. These are multi-faceted plays that take up extremely topical and discussion-provoking themes such as integration, bilingualism, generational conflicts, dual citizenship, male society, women’s rights, educational problems, Turkey’s accession to the EU, etc. and are staged in a musical comedy. This will create space for discussion and exchange regarding the prejudices and fears associated with the meeting of the two cultures and will be presented in a humorous way to Turkish, German and other members of the audience. The theater ulüm regularly performs its plays in Ulm in its own venue and also stages numerous guest performances.
