Vokalensemble 15

The “”Vokal-Ensemble 15 Baden-Württemberg”” was founded in 1991 as a chamber choir by Albrecht Schmid. The choir quickly made a name for itself with groundbreaking performances of the most important works of baroque literature (e.g. Schütz “”Geistliche Chormusik””, Handel’s “”Messiah””, Bach passions and oratorios).
In the years that followed, in addition to numerous acapella concerts with music from different eras, the choir regularly toured Germany and other European countries. In 2001, J. S. Bach’s Mass in B minor was performed with great success as part of a tour in Berlin and at the “”Potsdamer Bachtage””. Other tours have taken the choir to South Tyrol, France and Luxembourg, for example, where it performed seven concerts of the Mozart Requiem. Numerous CD recordings document the choir’s high vocal standard and historically informed ambition.
