Reger Vokal Ensemble

“Never freeze, always stay alive, never grow dull through habit!” – This credo by Max Reger is the guiding principle of the Reger Vocal Ensemble. Founded by Andreas Weil in 1996, the choir has developed into an ensemble with a wide-ranging repertoire: from 15th-century masses and works by Bach to world premieres of contemporary music. The choir also feels a special connection to its namesake – Reger’s vocal works, from simple folk song settings to complex motets, are a permanent part of its programs. Whether singing a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment, the ensemble stands out for its stylistic diversity, musical excellence, and strong sense of community. People of all ages and backgrounds come together here to sing with joy and dedication. What unites them is their passion for bringing music to life – in the spirit of Reger, whom Hindemith once called the “last giant in music.”
