The Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG), founded in 1953 by Inge Scholl, Otl Aicher, and Max Bill, made design history until its premature closure in 1968.
To this day, the achievements of this institution remain fundamentally important for the education and practice of designers, as well as for research. Since 2011, the HfG Archive has been located in the former school building. With its permanent exhibition From Zero Hour to 1968 and changing special exhibitions, visitors can explore the eventful history of the HfG from its founding to its closure—right at the original site.
