The Münsterkantorei motet choir is the large mixed house choir at Ulm Minster, whose duties include concert performances as well as singing at church services in the Minster. Oratorical works (all Bach oratorios, premieres and standard works) are just as much a part of the choir’s repertoire as a cappella literature. Regular collaborations with the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ulm Theater. Organizing choir of the Schwörkonzert.
The motet choir was founded in 1956 by Hans Jakob Haller and conducted until 1971. It was subsequently directed by KMD Prof. Edgar Rabsch (1972-1990) and KMD Friedrich Fröschle (1991-2009).
Voice training, rehearsal weekends and concert tours (including Schleswig-Holstein, Dresden and Leipzig, Vienna and Linz) round off the choir’s profile.
During rehearsals, the choir is coached by Annette Küttenbaum, and since 2010 it has been under the direction of Münsterkantor Friedemann Johannes Wieland.
