The Söflingen district, which was incorporated into Ulm in 1905, has managed to preserve much of its identity – something that is also reflected in the museum housed in the former monastery mill, established in the mid-1990s. The institution, run by the “Museumsverein Ulm-Söflingen e.V.”, was created with the aim of conveying impressions of Söflingen’s rich history to future generations through original exhibits.
The exhibition traces the development of the settlement from its beginnings to the present day, including the history of the Poor Clares Monastery, Söflingen’s vibrant club culture, local crafts, and major former businesses. The museum also showcases Söflingen’s most important artists and everyday life in the past, with displays of traditional costumes, authentic furnishings, dowry items, and even a fully stocked traditional corner store.
The museum association organizes regularly changing exhibitions during Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter, as well as in autumn.
Parking is available in the "Söflinger Klosterhof".
Take the streetcar to the terminus of line 1 in Söflingen, then walk to the "Klosterhof", opposite the church of "St. Maria Söflingen"
