Since its founding in 1958, Ulmer Spatzen Chor (Choir) has stood for musical excellence. Under the direction of Salome Rebello (since 2023), girls from primary school age up to 21 find a vocal home in this ensemble. Divided into several age groups – from preparatory choirs to children’s and youth choirs, and the adult ensemble “Les Passerelles” – the choir places great emphasis on individual vocal training, reflected in numerous national and international awards.
The repertoire spans folk songs, works from the Renaissance, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as contemporary compositions. Renowned composers such as Wilfried Hiller, Rolf Rudin, and Bob Chilcott have dedicated works to the choir.
With international concert tours, radio and TV appearances, and CD productions, the choir is recognized far beyond Ulm. The Ulmer Spatzen Choir is part of the Ulm Music School and operates as a registered non-profit association.
